Our names are Sam Bruton, Sam Taylor and Sam Odea. We are the team here at S.A.S magic. Our goal is to impress, astonish and inspire people of all ages using the art of magic.

We perform on the streets, in bars & restaurants and just about anywhere else you can imagine to practice and gain experience. We love to perform magic because what we do is impossible but we make it possible. It's in your face, close-up, hard hitting and leaves you completely... speechless.

We are based in Manchester but here are just a few areas we can cover; Manchester, Preston, Leeds, London, Birmingham, Leicester. If are you located elsewhere and want to know if we can attend simply drop as an e-mail to; sam@sasmagic.co.uk.

PROFILE: Sam Bruton

I got into magic when I was at a family party and like most people kept pestering the magician to show me how he had done such miracles. I was referred to a book (The Royal Road to Card Magic) and from then it it's been an never-ending journey into the dark mysteries of the underground art of magic.

I began by using my brain as a sponge to learn the basic ground rules and smooth card handling to start me off. I always used to go to Spain each summer which gave me great practice on the children and families over there. Once I had thought I had enough practice and I could tell people enjoyed what I did, I began to take it to the street bugging everyone I knew. More importantly I enjoy what I do, people who are open to our magic truely appreciate it and have as much fun as we do performing it.

I am currently studying A levels to lead onto university. My passion for magic is always growing and I love performing on the streets, in bars and just about anywhere else. I am into flourishes, close-up handling, psychological effects and just about anything else you can imagine which is suitable for all types of people. I see myself as an artist in the magic industry creating and performing effects to my best ability.

I perform magic as if it's real to inspire others and show them my skill and talent. Magic is classless and can inspire anyone no matter what their culture, it truely transends the language boundaries most people have. I have come to understand that it's not about how magicians do what they do, but to watch, admire and to believe it for what it is and not for what it's not.

PROFILE: Sam Taylor

My interest in the art of magic began many years ago thanks to a programme on tv called 'The masked magician'. This was on once a week and consisted of a profesional magician revealing how some of the biggest and smallest of tricks were done. I never really began performing magic at this stage but loved watching it and seeing how it was done and trying to work it out myself.

The next step to learning this magical art began at a family friends birthday party where we had a magician for entertainment. I believe I followed him round all night long watching every trick he did without fail and pestering him to show me how they were done. As all good magicians will tell you they cannot reveal there secrets and this magician was no exception. At the end of the night he showed me a final trick that blew me away, he recommended a book for me to read to help me understand how he did the trick and properly get in to magic.

I bought the book and began to read, learn and practice as much as I could. It was a while before I was comfortable showing tricks to people but now it seems its all I want to do. I now have many tricks in my armoury and I'm proud to show any one and everyone that the impossible is by no means impossible.

In the last few years I have taken my magic to the next level and taken it out on to the streets, bars and restaurants. This has increased my confidence and my skills in magic as a whole as on the street when something goes wrong you have to think quick to save the day. Street magic is where a lot of the professional's start and it really is harder than it looks. You are approaching people you have never met before and asking them to open up to you and be amazed, its not easy but way worth it when I see peoples reactions.

For me performing magic is inspiring for the pure resason that people have to lend there beliefs and step outside there comfort zone and for a small amount of time believe anything is possible. I like to belive people can watch my magic and realise that nothing is impossible and no matter what, there is always a way to make it happen.

PROFILE: Sam Odea

A realisation came to me when I first handled a deck of cards; quickly finding it a passion to use deception to leave close friends in awe. A long list of influential magicians started off my passion, including David Blaine from my childhood who gave a modern twist to the art. From this I began to understand that magic can leave an overwhelming optimism and excitement judged by witnesses of all ages; all, of whom love performing to.

I acknowledge the power magic can have on people I wouldnt normally have the pleasure of meeting- its a friendly mix of courage and communication to achieve my desired outcome. Building my skills on the street is a great way of gaining sufficient experience which drives me to further my career in magic.

My proud obsession with the art came at the greatest of times. It was a turning point in my decision of careers- my hands are never empty and I’m always learning. I attempt an unconventional approach to magic with a unique style that helps me to obtain a creative mind and undeniable impossibilities, trying to keep my ambition of providing the audience with equally as much amazement as I appreciate from reactions. I am continually altering my performance style for the spectators. The audience can sit back and enjoy the deceptions, giving them the opportunity to see close-up, stunning effects.

Magic for me is the best excuse to show my inner creative side and allow my most dedicated fixation to thrive. The art of illusion and deception takes years of hard work, discipline and experience to eventually reach the boundaries of perfection, and I am by all means still learning daily. Recently my magic has moved out of the basis of cards and more into mentalism/psychology and various impromptu objects including slight of hand with coins, basing my main routines, however, on card manipulations and trickery. My flexible performance style offers a vast array of effects top suit all audiences, showing people how magic can offer great lessons, and sometimes even life changing experiences that leave them with a strong memory of illusion and amazement.

Thats the thing with magic, youve got to know its still there, all around us, or it just stays invisible for you.
